Milestone in Blönduós

This marks a true milestone in the implementation of welfare technology at the Healthcare Institution of North Iceland (HSN) in Blönduós, as the first interactive Tover projector was delivered during the anniversary celebration of the hospital’s Friends Association. HSN is a proud member of Veltek – the Icelandic Health and Welfare Technology Cluster – and we are pleased to share this innovation that supports continued development and innovation in person-centered care.

The journey began with the introduction of Evondos medication dispensers, which have proven successful and established a solid foundation for further implementation of health and welfare technologies. The addition of the Tover projector is another significant step toward personalized and engaging care.

Tover is an interactive projector that casts games and activities onto a tabletop and responds to users’ movements. It is specifically designed for individuals in nursing and care homes, aiming to stimulate social interaction, physical activity, and participation – all of which contribute to improved quality of life.

RÚV, the national broadcaster, visited Blönduós for the handover and aired a report showing how the technology was welcomed. Among the highlights was a resident engaging in an interactive puzzle – one of many games and activities offered by the Tover system.
