Veltek, in collaboration with the University of Akureyri, recently welcomed an international working group participating in the SelfCare project, which is funded by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme.
The group included representatives from Region Västerbotten and University of Limerick. The visit began in Akureyri, where participants were introduced to the University’s operations and facilities, and the project workshop formally commenced.
Following the initial sessions in Akureyri, the group travelled to Fjallabyggð, where the workshop continued. During their stay, participants gained insight into the local community and its services, including joining a weekly 60+ walking group, which was very well received. They also had the opportunity to explore the municipality and become familiar with the local environment.
The group was fortunate to enjoy excellent weather throughout the visit, which further enhanced the overall experience.
The next project workshop will take place in Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland, in October.
